Terms of use.
Rules for accessing the SGCA website, learning platform, accounts, resources and community features.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using SGCA, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy and any programme, school, licence or subscription terms supplied during enrolment. If you use SGCA for a child, school or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept the applicable terms for that user or organisation. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use restricted platform services.
These public Terms form a general platform framework. A signed school, enterprise, partnership or licensing agreement takes priority where it expressly conflicts with this page.
2. Eligibility and children
Public website content may be viewed without an account. Learner services require an authorised account and may require consent or approval from a parent, guardian, school or organisation. Users must provide accurate age and authority information. Children must not create independent accounts or submit personal information where parental or organisational authorisation is required.
3. Accounts and security
- Keep credentials confidential and use only your assigned account.
- Do not share teacher, administrator or organisation credentials.
- Provide accurate registration and contact information.
- Notify SGCA promptly of suspected compromise or unauthorised use.
- Role permissions must be respected: public, learner, parent, teacher and administrator access are not interchangeable.
SGCA may require password reset, identity confirmation or additional security steps to protect users and platform data.
4. Acceptable use
Users must not bully, harass, impersonate, exploit, discriminate against or endanger another person; upload unlawful, harmful or infringing material; attempt unauthorised access; bypass role controls; introduce malware; scrape or overload the service; falsify progress; or use SGCA to train, benchmark or commercialise another product without written permission. Responsible testing within an explicitly authorised learning task is permitted.
5. Educational services and safeguarding
SGCA provides educational content, missions, feedback and progress tools. It does not guarantee a particular grade, qualification, employment result or uninterrupted rate of progress. Teachers, schools, parents and guardians remain responsible for appropriate supervision, safeguarding decisions and the suitability of activities for individual learners. Emergency, medical or safeguarding concerns must be directed to appropriate local services, not platform support.
6. Intellectual property and learner work
SGCA platform code, branding, characters, curricula, artwork, missions and published resources are protected by intellectual-property rights. A limited, revocable, non-transferable licence is granted for authorised personal or educational use. Resources may not be resold, republished or redistributed beyond the purchased or licensed setting.
Learners retain rights they hold in original work they create. They grant SGCA only the permissions reasonably necessary to store, display, assess and provide the service. SGCA will seek additional permission before using identifiable learner work for public promotion.
7. Pricing, subscriptions and cancellation
Pricing, billing periods, taxes, included users, renewal and cancellation rights are confirmed during purchase or in the applicable order form. Public pricing pages are informational unless expressly stated as a binding offer. Consumer cancellation and refund rights are not limited where applicable law provides stronger protection. Schools and enterprises are governed by their signed agreement.
8. Availability, changes and third-party services
SGCA may update content, features, security controls and supported browsers. Planned maintenance or urgent security work may temporarily affect access. Links or integrations supplied by third parties remain subject to their own terms and privacy notices. SGCA will use reasonable care but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
9. Disclaimers and liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to applicable law and any signed agreement, SGCA is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, external service failure, user misuse, loss caused by ignored security guidance, or content supplied by users or third parties. Consumer statutory rights remain unaffected.
10. Suspension and termination
Access may be restricted or suspended to protect learners, investigate security issues, respond to non-payment, enforce role permissions or address serious or repeated breach. Where appropriate, SGCA will explain the reason and provide a route to review. Data handling after closure follows the Privacy Policy and applicable retention duties.
11. Changes, governing law and contact
Material changes will be dated and communicated appropriately. Continued use after an effective update may constitute acceptance where legally permitted; otherwise renewed consent or agreement will be requested. Unless another agreement or mandatory consumer law applies, these Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, with courts determined by applicable jurisdiction and consumer protections.
